Technical Program Manager, VMWare Engine

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in cloud computing emerging technologies or related technical fields.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with VMware ecosystem and tools.
  • Experience with Google’s infrastructure and infrastructure management systems.
  • Experience working across a distributed, and integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members.
  • Understanding of large scale distributed systems and excellent problem-solving skill.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering skills. You will plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project life-cycle. This includes managing project schedules, clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You will work with local and global teams to deliver launches on time and manage risk and changes. Using your extensive technical and leadership skills, you will manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

Responsibilities

  • Execute product launches and influence across your team and the overall program.
  • Drive program management and find ways to handle complexity and across high breadth and depth and drive alignment across compute organization and its respective stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, problem-solving abilities and proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, launch velocity driving decisions and organize work into sub-projects.
  • Work with Engineering and Product Management to drive prioritization, planning and product road map.
