Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 8 years of program/project management experience in industrial facilities.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in hyper-scale data center infrastructure strategy, design, and operations.
  • Experience with leading strategic global data center initiatives.
  • Experience leading energy efficiency, water efficiency, and carbon emission reduction projects.
  • Understanding of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and how it applies to data centers.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The data center infrastructure strategy team plays a key role with developing and procuring infrastructure solutions, managing infrastructure projects, and driving strategic technical programs for our data center fleet

As a member of Google’s global data center infrastructure strategy team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a global organization working to make the company’s data centers more resilient, efficient, and sustainable. You will combine your creativity and knowledge with organizational skills and data-driven analysis to manage various initiatives that support the development and maintenance of Google’s data center fleet.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic partnerships for data center waste heat recovery, identifying uses like district heating, industrial processes, or other third-party applications. Conduct feasibility studies, assess risks, and evaluate benefits for cooling system efficiency.
  • Develop strategies for on-site water recycling and optimize closed-loop systems. Drive the adoption of advanced recycling and reuse technologies to minimize data center water consumption, and implement effective water treatment solutions.
  • Develop innovative, energy-efficient cooling strategies to reduce environmental impact. Identify advanced cooling technologies like liquid and free cooling, and analyze existing systems for energy and water efficiency improvements.
  • Lead Google Data Center’s portfolio to reduce Scope 1 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions. Oversee procurement and supply chain strategies for carbon reduction, prioritize opportunities using life-cycle analysis, and report on sustainability performance to leadership.
