Senior Risk and Compliance Lead, AI and Content

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in compliance, risk management, investigation, auditing, legal, or consulting.
  • Experience building compliance programs from the ground up.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Law, Business, Compliance, or a similar field.
  • Experience identifying potential risks and developing innovative solutions.
  • Experience in influencing decision-making at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Experience with compliance program management principles, risk assessment methodologies, internal control frameworks, and compliance policies and frameworks.
  • Experience bringing structure and clarity to ambiguous situations, with excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior management, regulators, and external stakeholders.

The newly formed Risk, Compliance & Integrity organization (RCI) brings together critical compliance, assurance, risk, and governance functions across Google to help the company meet compliance needs and enable our businesses to innovate. Our goal is to make compliance a competitive advantage for Google by driving scaled, data-driven, and policy-based compliance programs. We manage our operations through risk-based prioritization, governance, consistent, and constructive regulator engagement.

As the Senior Risk and Compliance Specialist, Content and AI, you will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining a robust risk and compliance framework for the organization's content and artificial intelligence endeavors. This includes developing and enforcing comprehensive policies and guidelines, conducting thorough risk assessments of models and systems, and implementing effective mitigation strategies and contingency plans. The role necessitates strong collaboration with legal, compliance, and technical teams, oversight of audits, and leadership of initiatives to ensure ethical alignment and adherence to evolving regulatory requirements, contributing to the overall safety and integrity of the organization's platforms and user experience.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $158,000-$235,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain content and AI governance framework through the development and enforcement of clear policies and guidelines.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with legal, compliance, and technical teams to ensure cohesive content and AI strategy, and adherence to ethical principles.
  • Define the methodology for content and AI risk assessments and collaborate with technical teams on execution.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and frameworks for contingency plans across content and AI initiatives.
  • Monitor regulatory trends and translate them into governance policies and standards, and collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to shape the organization's overall content and AI risk management approach.
