Technical Program Manager, TSI Product and Platform Management

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in technical program or project management.
  • 8 years of experience with managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in delivering cross-functional technical projects and programs with multiple stakeholders in a changing environment.
  • Experience in working with globally distributed teams across multiple time-zones.
  • Knowledge of large language models, with multi-turn conversations or model behavior.
  • Ability to manage, lead, and collaborate with the team.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to different audiences like technical, non technical and executive leadership.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. We achieve this by meeting partners and consumers where they are with support and help, representing their needs with our product partners and proposing fixes and features that elevate their engagement with Google's diverse product ecosystem. Additionally we provide a range of product services that ensure our products are optimized for every user, no matter where they are in the world (e.g., localization, digitization, partner integration and more).

Responsibilities

  • Define and oversee the strategy, execution, and delivery of technical program portfolios, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Guide the team on program scoping, planning, and risk management.
  • Build strong relationships with executive leadership across Engineering, Product, and User Experience (UX). Drive alignment, influence decisions, and communicate program strategy, status, and impact.
  • Provide technical guidance, ensuring judgments within programs. Maintain domain expertise to guide team problem-solving and technical approaches.
  • Drive initiatives improving organizational effectiveness, team processes, and program management best practices. Implement solutions for enhanced delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a Technical Program Manager (TPM) team, promoting quality performance and collaboration. Manage hiring, performance, career development, and resource allocation.
