  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration and working across boundaries.
  • Experience working with Java.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to work closely with UXR as part of rapid Critical User Journey (CUJ) iterations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Passionate about building products to boost productivity for other engineers.

AI Data Generation Team's charter is to generate GenAI data and evals for Google. Our team has been instrumental in performing LLM/GenAI model evaluations and model fine-tuning (e.g., using RLHF techniques).

Crowd Compute is a large-scale general purpose platform that collects upwards of five million human answers a day on behalf of teams across Alphabet, including Cloud, Shopping/Commerce, Geo, Medical/Health, Research, NBU, YouTube, Waymo and X.

Data Generation is our evolving self-service data generation platform that enables a typical AI product developer to produce verifiable high-quality data-sets through automatable workflows with deep integrations into pre-training, post-training and evaluations infrastructure.The ML, Systems, & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization at Google designs, implements, and manages the hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for all Google services (Search, YouTube, etc.) and Google Cloud. Our end users are Googlers, Cloud customers and the billions of people who use Google services around the world.

We prioritize security, efficiency, and reliability across everything we do - from developing our latest TPUs to running a global network, while driving towards shaping the future of hyperscale computing. Our global impact spans software and hardware, including Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, the leading AI platform for bringing Gemini models to enterprise customers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for technical leadership and startegic development of the AI Data's first-party data solutions (Central Review Committee and DataGeneration).
  • Deliver and launch tools/solutions to collect, verify and deliver data/evals for a variety of GenAI use cases, including evaluation and improvement of Generative AI models and launches.
  • Learn novel GenAI use cases to learn in depth their data needs and identify solutions leveraging the AI Data Platform.
  • Work cross-functionally with Data Science, Product, UX/UXR and Operations teams.
