Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience serving in the capacity of a pre-sales, customer-facing field engineering people manager capacity leading a multi-regional team.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in building product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept planning and execution, and the coordination and prioritization of solutions impacting customer adoption of database solutions.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies, with the ability to position a database for customer’s application use case.
  • Knowledge of application development, runtime platforms, and related technologies.
  • Ability to craft an audience-tailored message.
  • Ability to build and maintain engaged positioning information for cloud and on-prem databases.

As a Head of Data Management Customer Engineering (CE), for Asia Pacific, you will grow our database business. You will be responsible for the leadership and development of Database Customer Engineering teams. You will be as a subject matter expert responsible for working alongside our customers to provide trusted technical and solution engineering guidance to accelerate workload conversion, business growth, and remove technical impediments.

In this role, you will develop the go-to-market CE plan to scale the Asia Pacific database business. You will engage directly with customers as the opportunity presents itself, and possess the necessary skills to effectively build internal relationships (e.g., sales teams, support, product) and with external customer stakeholders, identifying innovative ways to multiply the impact of the team as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Customer Engineers and build a growth culture. Focus on talent strategy and skills development to deliver on successful cloud transformation outcomes for our customers and accelerate business goals for territory.
  • Foster partnerships with key customers across the book of business. Provide leadership related to cloud, transformation and relevant industry trends.
  • Partner with Google Cloud sales leadership to define technical go-to-market strategies and execution plans for the team's book of business.
  • Balance technical leadership with operational excellence, lead workload and opportunity review meetings and provide insight into how to achieve a technical agreement and migration strategy, working directly with our customers, partners, and prospects.
  • Work cross-functionally across Google, our partners, and team to resolve technical roadblocks including capacity needs, constraints and product tests affecting customer satisfaction.
