Data Engineer III, Go-to-Market Operations

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience coding in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience working with data infrastructure and data models by performing exploratory queries and scripts.
  • 3 years of experience designing data pipelines, and dimensional data modeling for synch and asynch system integration and implementation using internal (e.g., Flume, etc.) and external stacks (DataFlow, Spark, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with relevant coursework or projects.

  • 4 years of experience with statistical methodology and data consumption tools such as business intelligence tools, collabs, jupyter notebooks, Tableau, Power BI, DataStudio, and business intelligence platforms.

  • 3 years of experience partnering with stakeholders (e.g., users, partners, customer), presenting to impactful stakeholders, and managing stakeholder or customer relationships.

  • Experience developing new project plans and delivering projects on time within budget and scope.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Global Business Organization (GBO) is a global team that serves as the strategy, operations, and product commercialization partner to our Go-to-Market teams. The team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving business delivers strategic growth and operates effectively.

As a Data Engineer in the GBO Eng team, you will focus on building, designing, and deploying a scalable, robust data warehouse using Google internal technologies including Flume, Napa, etc. You will partner with a team of engineers, product managers, and analysts, to build new features to support Google's internal Google Marketing Platform (GMP) sellers. You will architect high quality software, and design key tools and systems as part of infrastructure consisting of ETL pipelines, storage layers, presentation layers, and more. Your contributions will directly impact Google's ad sales business at scale.


The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $124,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Design and build data processing systems with a particular emphasis on security, compliance, scalability, efficiency, reliability, and portability.
  • Create or consult in creating data visualizations using Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., PLX, Datastudio, Tableau, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain data models, pipelines, and exchange formats to assist in the visualization, analysis, and interpretation of data and for use of data in ML training/models.
  • Provide ongoing support for data users through maintenance of reports, queries, and dashboards, fielding user questions, authoring documentation, and delivering training.
