Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in content strategy, content design, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience in journalism, public relations, internal or executive communications, or a related field.
  • Experience in creating and managing style guides, design systems, and content models for content operations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with AI-powered content generation and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance the creative process.
  • Experience in a technical writing or UX writing role.
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS) and other content tools.
  • Experience in a creative leadership role, such as a executive content strategist, content design lead/art director.
  • Understanding of editorial and creative content development, storytelling techniques, and external communications trends and best practices.
  • Understanding how to leverage user-centered design for content strategy and translate those human needs into actionable guidelines and parameters for AI content models.

About the job

The Generative Content Architect is the technical strategist responsible for transforming YouTube’s traditional content development into a streamlined, AI-enabled ecosystem. In this role, you will design the prompt libraries, define the Large Language Model (LLM) tool stack, and build the 'human-in-the-loop' frameworks that automate the creation of Help Center articles, video scripts, and executive communications. You will serve as the bridge between Product Engineering and Creative Operations, translating technical capabilities (like RAG and model fine-tuning) into intuitive solutions that redefine how we create content.

The YouTube (YT) Go-to-Market and Operations (GTMO) team is a global team working to ensure our users get the most out of YouTube. We provide dedicated and scaled support go-to-market plan development, partnership resources, product and policy insights based on user feedback, and scaled partnership management to ensure that all users can thrive within the YouTube ecosystem. We ensure products get to market, support users when they need help and capture user feedback to drive product excellence and market fit.

The Scaled Communication and Escalations organization provides support to all YouTube users, viewers, paid users and subscribers, and creators, artists and media companies globally, through a variety of scaled support platforms across Social, Help Center, Product Forum, and YouTube Help Channels.

Strategic Cloud Engineer (SCE) is building YouTube’s first-ever AI-First Content and Media Operations team, which will be at the forefront of using revolutionary AI models to create and manage content at YouTube. We are building a nimble, efficient, and highly skilled team that will leverage AI technologies to produce high-quality content, helping, educating users and creators around the world.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000-$155,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain enterprise-grade prompt libraries across various content formats (written, visual, video), applying advanced prompt engineering techniques to ensure output accuracy, safety, and strict adherence to YT brand voice.
  • Assess, select, and configure the suite of AI tools, LLMs, and proprietary internal models best suited for specific content needs (long-form Help Center articles vs. snappy social communication).
  • Design protocols that integrate AI efficiency with human editorial oversight, ensuring high throughput without compromising safety, accuracy, brand voice.
  • Design, test, and maintain a library of enterprise-grade prompts, system instructions tailored to various formats (Video Scripts, Community Posts, HTS Canned Responses, Help Articles).
