Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience in a financial services software/systems engineering or lead position.
  • 5 years of experience working with development and deployment of capital markets, core banking, or market data systems.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Google Cloud services within a financial services context: VertexAI, BigQuery, BigTable, Spanner, Dataflow, Google Kubernetes Engine, Google Compute Engine.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, a related engineering field, or equivalent work experience in a financial services software/systems engineering or lead position.
  • Understanding of the current state of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Analytics.
  • Excellent communication, written, presentation and problem solving skills.

About the job

As a Solutions Architect with a core focus on Cloud Applications and Infrastructure, you will help customers implement best practices for migrating and develop/publish solutions to help modernize their application infrastructure. This includes solutions to help automate and manage infrastructure. You will provide direction on how to tailor the mechanisms used to secure and deploy workloads reliably and safely to production.

As part of the Solution Engineering organization in Google Cloud, you will have knowledge of IT infrastructure and software engineering, and be able to plan, execute, and balance multiple projects. You will work with customers, field teams, solutions, and Google engineering teams to produce secure and scalable technical solutions and distribute them via different channels, including technical white papers, open-source repositories, webinars, videos, blogs, and live presentations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a broader Solutions GTM team to contribute to solution related to High Performance Computing (HPC) applications, data analytics, globally scaled databases, and other topics relevant to the financial services industry. Develop technical assets, prioritize and shape solution direction, and impact business and bookings.
  • Facilitate technical discussions focused on the financial services industry with customers and partners as needed through all phases of customer engagements.
  • Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, within a financial services context, and promote Google Cloud with customers, at conferences, and online.
  • Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations adapted to technical, business, and executive partners. 
  • Provide customer and market feedback to product and engineering teams to help define product direction.
