Global Supply Chain Manager, Electromechanical

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Experience in printed circuit board (PCB) and flexible printed circuit board assembly (FPCA) category or commodity management, contract negotiation and supplier development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Operations Research.
  • 5 years of experience in electronics/computer consumer hardware, with knowledge of electronic-mechanical modules.
  • Experience across all phases of a product from prototype to mass production to end of life.
  • Ability to customize communications based on the audience.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across multiple levels of an organization, with excellent problem solving and communication skills to drive process improvements.

About the job

Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.

As a Global Supply Manager for Electromechanical (EM), you'll play a key role in bringing some of Google’s products to life, including Pixel, Watch, and Wearables. You will work with internal cross-functional teams as well as external suppliers, and will help develop and deliver Printed Circuit Boards and Flexible Printed Circuit Assembly components at a consumer electronics scale.

In this role, you will be the primary materials liaison working with a cross-functional team to identify and mitigate supply chain risk, drive material, cost and process opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify supply chain risks and mitigation plans to ensure materials readiness and drive supply chain readiness to ensure product scalability.
  • Address material management, shortages, and Clear to Build (CTB) activities, acting as the primary contact window within the internal team and the escalation point between internal teams and suppliers.
  • Identify cost opportunities through market intelligence and business report analysis, and drive cost savings efforts.
  • Develop systematic tools and processes to manage information flow and enhance data driven approaches internally and externally.
