Android Strategic Partner Manager (Fixed-Term Contract)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience in working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with category management/development and channel marketing.
  • Experience creating external presentations for carriers, retailers, or OEMs.
  • Experience managing complex, end-to-end partnerships.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with product/technical and business teams.

The Android Platform and Partnerships team at Google is a well-established entity. Its mission involves cross-functional leadership in partner Business Development opportunities across the organization, supporting technical industry alignment with partners, and establishing Go-To-Market strategies. These strategies are designed to ensure coordinated activities and tactics with carrier, retailer, and handset OEM partners to facilitate sustainable ecosystem growth. Combining strategic planning with daily execution, this team collaborates across Google with development, marketing, product, and finance teams.

This fixed-term contract (FTC) position will place you as a partner-facing member of the Canada team, which focuses on the growth of the Android ecosystem within the country. You will work closely with the Country General Manager, leveraging your extensive experience at an OEM or carrier in areas such as price, promotion, brand, product, performance marketing, and smartphone sales through various channels.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies for Android handsets, collaborating closely with key channels including carriers, retailers, and e-tailers.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with carrier partners, ensuring the success of Android within those channels across Canada.
  • Play a key role in establishing GTM plans encompassing budgets, shipment goals, and growth projections, aligning with the overarching country strategy for Android.
  • Serve as the primary source of information on partner sales performance for Android within partner channels.
