Distinguished Engineer, ML Systems Architecture

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in data center hardware architecture and design.
  • Experience with hyperscale data center design architectures, IT platforms, and high speed networking and connectivity (optical and copper).
  • Experience with data center and hardware architectures for ML workloads.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience working in a server-class silicon development, design or architecture team.
  • Ability to influence other senior, highly technical leaders to agree on best in class technical approaches.
  • Ability to drive technical direction without having immediate management responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated track record setting a technical strategy or vision for data center or silicon development teams.

As a Distinguished Engineer for ML Systems Architecture, you will drive future-looking architectures at the intersection of data centers and IT systems. You will partner with Hardware and Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations teams across Data Center and IT Platforms to lead game changing architectural and development efforts. You'll work closely with inside and outside partners to execute on the architectures, providing technical direction, operational guidance and industry influence

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $349,000-$485,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and leadership in modular computation for ML architectures. Lead definition and development across all engineering disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, thermal, structural, industrial, etc.) to optimize the design points. Provide technical direction, integration expertise and critical data analysis related to the overall system architecture and performance. 
  • Collaborate across internal teams and outside partners to optimize for manufacturing and supply chain to achieve delivery speed and optimize cost.
  • Achieve high volume manufacturability with automation and optimized flows, developing solutions with significant standardization efforts for speed, scale and supply chain efficiencies, and optimization parameters such as reliability, cost, weight, transportation, installation and serviceability.
  • Upend existing processes that don't make sense but preserve ones that do.
  • Think strategically and drive ideation and influence across functional teams to deliver revolutionary solutions.
