About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager on the edge of our network, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our users in EMEA can access Google's content and services with optimal quality and performance, and with optimal economics for Google. You will manage multiple projects with high degree of complexity and scope. You will work closely with partner teams to determine project priorities, resolve scheduling issues, and negotiate solutions to problems. You will have the ability to demonstrate independence, creativity, and initiative that permits your work to be accepted and trusted by upper management and cross-functional teams globally. Your impact will be landed through both the decision-making and cross-functional project management of infrastructure deployment, and through longer term growth initiatives such as automation, new platform introduction and profound data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams and manage simultaneous large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring stakeholders are aware of project status. Manage project scope changes, through impact assessment and communication across stakeholders.
  • Manage exceptions and communicate issues and risks to the rest of the organization. Determine root causes and solutions and present your team's analyses, recommendations and approaches to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand business needs and coordinate the design, testing and implementation of web application automation workflows.
  • Define and undertake end-to-end, holistic data analysis (on-time delivery, cycle-time, forecasting, impact analysis) to land the business recommendations.
  • Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information. Develop and automate reports, iteratively build and prototype dashboards.
