Associate Technical Solutions Engineer, Deployment and Support, Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role troubleshooting hardware, software, in cloud or on-premises server infrastructure management, including diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware, and server hardware.
  • Ability to lift/move 50lb (23kg) of equipment and ability to exert yourself physically over extended periods of time, including frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling and lifting.
  • Active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with Polygraph.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Computer Networking such as TCP/IP, Routing, load balancing, etc.
  • Experience working with public cloud like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud computing platform.
  • Experience debugging workload issues across multi node environments.
  • Experience with performing component-level repairs on IT equipment.
  • Understanding of basic web technologies like HTTP, HTML, DNS, TCP, etc.

About the job

In this role, you will enable a new and innovative service line within Google Cloud, functioning as part of a product deployment and support team with a strong focus on customer experience. You will provide both remote and on-site support for deploying new cloud capacity and technologies, demonstrating strong customer focus and meticulous attention to detail. You will uphold clearly defined Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and drive their improvement through continuous feedback. This role involves direct interaction with an upcoming program, navigating a high degree of ambiguity.

This position requires that the applicant selected be eligible to obtain or currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the applicant will obtain a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform GPS work. Failure to maintain (or obtain, if applicable) the appropriate U.S. Government clearance or customer screening requirements that results in the employee unable to perform the requirements of the role, may result in employment action up to and including termination.

This role will require up to 50% travel. You must have the ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $102,000-$146,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Support capacity deployment by managing build milestones and timelines.
  • Troubleshoot OS-related issues and improve diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques for faster recovery.
  • Deploy and configure integrated hardware and software solutions remotely and on customer sites.
  • Utilize software tools for inventory management, OS configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to creating and enhancing documentation for new platforms and support activities.
