Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Quantitative Science, or related technical fields, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9 years of experience working in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
  • 9 years of experience in statistical problem solving and analyzing data sets using SQL or comparable coding language (e.g. Python, R, Java, C++).
  • 2 years of experience managing a team.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, etc.).
  • Experience working with data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience in Go-to-Market (GTM) operations, sales strategy, or the digital advertising industry.
  • Experience in designing and managing a strategic technical roadmap.
  • Experience in data analysis, with the ability to solve problems in complex, fast-moving, and ambiguous business environments through strong data intuition and business acumen.
  • Excellent executive communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven recommendations to non-technical executive leadership.

About the job

The Analytics team is tasked with building data infrastructure and providing actionable insights at scale in partnership with Sales and the rest of the Americas Business Strategy and Operations (ABS&O) team.

We are seeking a strategic, Business Analyst Manager to lead and scale this vital function. In this role, you will be the architect and manage the next generation of our data infrastructure. You will lead the charge in building out a new, scaled data lake designed to power a future suite of AI-driven investigative tools, fundamentally transforming how our sales and operations leaders make decisions. You will be a passionate coach and a builder at heart, excited by the opportunity to double the team's size by hiring and developing top talent.

As a natural strategist, you will be excellent at translating business challenges into technical roadmaps and mentoring a team of analysts to do the same. You will partner directly with leadership to influence the go-to-market strategy while owning the goal for our analytics stack, which includes Google SQL, PLX, and AppScript. This is a unique opportunity to shape a high-performing team and build the investigative foundation that will drive the next phase of growth for Google's Ads business.
The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$254,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business needs into technical requirements, provide data-driven recommendations, and drive through to deployment.
  • Present clear and compelling data-backed recommendations to executive leadership, influencing strategic direction and business outcomes.
  • Manage and develop a team of business analysts, and support them through technical coaching, standards-setting, prioritization, and task allocation as well as a robust roadmap that can be agile / adaptable to changing stakeholder needs.
  • Oversee BI solutions and infrastructure design to facilitate data sourcing/gathering, storage, and retrieval to output a suite of reports, queries, and dashboards to democratize information for decision-makers across the organization. Partner with upstream source systems to influence input and storage.
  • Lead in-depth analyses across multiple data-sets (e.g., business, product adoption, operations, headcount data) to drive data-driven decision-making on critical business sales motions and initiatives.
