Deals Manager, Global Media Partnerships, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in media industry agreement negotiation.
  • Experience working with executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or JD degree.
  • Experience negotiating distribution agreements for linear cable television, broadcast stations, direct-to-consumer offerings, and advertiser supported content.
  • Experience escalating and presenting key issues and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Experience licensing content for distribution on streaming platforms.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, structure agreements, and work with legal teams to sign and manage agreements.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to structure, analyze, and solve business problems, as well as deliver impact against concrete business goals.

The YouTube Product Partnerships team drives the partner strategy and manages key relationships that help to make YouTube’s products more universally accessible and useful. We own the business side of new products and initiatives, and our strategic partnerships seek to build, distribute, grow, and protect YouTube’s products globally. We know how to assess partnership opportunities in any situation, define a strategy, and work closely within our team, and with Product, Marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive critical partnerships that help evolve our business.

The mission of the Media Partners team is to make YouTube the essential platform for viewing content from media partners by driving meaningful business and distribution. We are responsible for sourcing, negotiating and closing distribution agreements with media and entertainment companies for YouTube’s subscription video businesses, as well as distributing ad-supported content across YouTube’s multiple formats and platforms to fuel those partners’ core businesses.

As a Deals Manager, you will negotiate and manage agreements for partnerships with the top media companies, studios and entertainment/sports properties across YouTube TV, Primetime Channels and YouTube Main.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$249,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Negotiate partnerships for YouTube's AVOD, SVOD, TVOD, PPV, FAST and Pay TV services.
  • Contribute to a high-performing team that drives the success of YouTube’s Global Media Partnerships, while supporting a culture that encourages creative thinking and risk taking.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with a broad range of constituents, particularly in product, finance, marketing, and legal, as well as with external partners.
  • Leverage industry experience to negotiate agreements in alignment with cross-functional priorities.
  • Understand industry trends and market insights to adjust to changing circumstances.
