Transportation Program Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business (e.g., Supply chain Management, Transportation, Operations Management), a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience working with Transportation Management Application (JDA).
  • 5 years of experience in Transportation as supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing team members, or running workload.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in managing cost, quality, and service performance and for making decisions when trade-offs are required
  • Knowledge of carrier rates, agreements, tariffs and in the use of distribution strategies.
  • Knowledge of multi modal transportation.

Google Cloud Logistics team is helping build Google's planet-scale computer powering all of Google's services (Cloud, Gmail, YouTube, Search). They manage critical parts of the supply chain to turn raw components into serving capacity in the data centers. A team of experts collaborate on challenging problems daily across warehousing, transportation, global trade compliance and order management.

The Global Transportation and Sustainability team’s goal is to forge an operating model that seamlessly aligns with Cloud Supply Chain and Operations (CSCO) and General Configuration Language (GCL) objectives. This model will be an enabler for continuous improvement, driving 5-10% of cost efficiency while achieving a 98% on-time performance. In this role, you will embrace technological advancements and propel carrier strategy towards diversification while maintaining agility in responding to business needs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$194,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage Transportation Planning using JDA Transportation Management System.
  • Serve as Transportation liaison between Supplier, Contract Manufacturing , National and Regional Carriers, and GCL warehouses on shipping plans and improve Transportation Operations via mode selection, consolidations, and compliance to increase service delivery levels.
  • Develop and Drive Cost Saving opportunities within the network, seek innovative solutions to streamline processes, and make recommendations to automate and improve efficiencies.
  • Be a problem solver with the experience to understand, address and resolve issues that arise in day-to-day operations.
  • Manage day-to-day escalations root cause and corrective actions with the teams, support the operationalization of key fulfillment acceleration programs, develop and execute training on new processes and oversee team of transportation support vendors.
