Senior Analyst, Government Affairs and Public Policy

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in policy analysis and campaigns, working on technology issues or the policy environments that surround them.
  • 4 years of experience working within government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to write with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent people and project management skills, with the ability to deliver projects.

About the job

As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be part of a global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction. You're passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for everyone.

In this role, you will manage public policy campaigns for Google, and will focus on engaging with stakeholders. You will also work with the team to lead on implementing organizational plans, executive visits, and strategy development.

As a member of Google's Public Policy team, you will help shape various product and issue agendas with policy makers, and will help advise internal teams on the public policy implications of their products, working with a coordinated and cross-functional global team.

The Lithuania base salary range for this full-time position is EUR 56,000-57,500. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Identify policy issues that may affect Google, and understand the impact on Google business and users, and participate in policy campaigns with clear goals to shape a policy or set of policies.
  • Address policy and government relations problems, and develop and execute policy strategy in a way that benefits the users and business.
  • Build a network of trade associations, industry partners, non-profit groups and others to support policies that will help create/maintain a user-focused online environment as well as an open Internet.
  • Develop and lead public policy campaigns across the full range of policy areas.
  • Engage with external stakeholders and policy-makers.
