Research Scientist, AI/ML, Health Sensing and Insights

Minimum qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in Machine Learning and Deep Learning using modern machine learning packages (e.g., JAX, TensorFlow).
  • Experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, C/C++, Java.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Industry experience in end-to-end system building, deploying, and maintaining AI/ML models in production in the health/medical domain.
  • Experience with large-scale semi-supervised learning and transfer learning.
  • Experience in signal processing and filtering techniques for bio-signals (e.g., PPG, ECG, audio).
  • Experience in contributions to research communities/efforts, including publishing papers in scientific journals or conferences.
  • Experience with embedded devices and sensors.
  • Understanding of human physiology.

As a Research Scientist, you'll setup large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies. From creating experiments and prototyping implementations to designing new architectures, our research scientists work on real-world problems that span the breadth of computer science, such as machine (and deep) learning, data mining, natural language processing, hardware and software performance analysis, improving compilers for mobile platforms, as well as core search and much more.

As a Research Scientist, you'll also actively contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing your findings, with ideas inspired by internal projects as well as from collaborations with research programs at partner universities and technical institutes all over the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and validate advanced AI/ML algorithms for novel sensing applications and insights generation in consumer healthcare.
  • Build data pipelines, modeling, evaluation and analysis platforms to transform research prototypes to production models for deployment. Optimize models to ensure robust generalization in real-world deployment.
  • Work cross-functionally with clinical, biostatistics, and product to design clinical validation studies.
  • Create high-quality software artifacts and documents. Publish in scientific journals or conferences.
  • Scope and surface new and upcoming research areas for novel exploration related to AI in healthcare.
