Partner Engineering Manager, Google Cloud (English, Japanese)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in a Technical Business Engineering role in a cloud computing environment.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese and English fluently to interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration.
  • Experience with web/internet technologies, architecture across Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and cloud productivity suites.
  • Knowledge of cloud technology, cloud computing market, and Google Cloud products.
  • Ability to inspire and grow teams in a channels business environment.
  • Ability to operate in a changing team environment and present to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent problem solving, attention-to-detail, organizational and project management skills.

The Google Cloud Platform team helps customers transform and build their business all with technology built in the cloud. In this role, you will understand the needs of our customers, help shape the future of businesses of all sizes, and use technology to connect with customers, employees and partners. You will lead a team of engineers who will engage with and enable our channel partners (e.g., Regional System Integrators, Managed Services Partners, Global System Integrators) to understand and assess customer requirements, prepare and present demonstrations of Google’s Cloud technologies and address and overcome technical matters that arise throughout business processes. You will help to build a partner ecosystem capable of driving a significant portion of Google’s Cloud business through an indirect channel. You will also be responsible for developing and improving the technical and business capabilities of the engineers, which in turn provides more value to our partners and customers.

From startups building their first app to billion-user consumer companies crunching big data, the Google Cloud Platform gives developers and businesses the most advanced data and analytics solution on the market, along with Google's secure, high performance infrastructure. Our team of technical account managers and software engineers work with partners across all functions to develop solutions that harness Google's planet-wide platform to solve the world's most challenging problems.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, coach and drive a high performance team to enable partners to work towards goals while prioritizing an outstanding customer experience.
  • Work with partner teams to ramp up adoption in business cycles. Develop the strategy to resolve technical impediments and scope out migration workloads for end customers.
  • Be a trusted Technical Leader and mentor to our Channel Partners to build a sustainable Google Cloud practice.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders such as the Partner Organization, Enablement Teams, Partner Strategy and Operations and further organizations as the Technical advocate and advocate for partners in the territory.
  • Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure to implement complete solutions.
