The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of multitaskers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.

Google's Risk, Compliance and Integrity (RCI) organization addresses the complex issues arising from the impact of AI, product diversification, and fragmented global laws. RCI consolidates critical compliance, risk, and governance functions to support business innovation while meeting regulatory needs. The organization's primary goal is to transform compliance into an engaged advantage by implementing scaled, data-driven programs, prioritizing based on risk, and engaging constructively with regulators.

In India, the RCI Regional Assurance team focuses on building strong partnerships with local law enforcement and regulatory authorities to navigate the evolving digital ecosystem. The Nodal team member's principal responsibility is to be available 24/7 for coordination with law enforcement and other government agencies. This establishes a constant and reliable line of communication, ensuring Google can effectively assist in maintaining law and order in the digital space as required by Indian law.

Responsibilities

  • Support Nodal Officer, India in 24x7 coordination with and support to regulatory and law enforcement agencies while working with internal teams to respond to lawful requests received.
  • Ensure that law enforcement and regulatory lawful requests are acknowledged, reviewed, and handled by applicable laws and Google’s policies.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams with regard to potential legal risks in India, implement policies, and processes for compliance with law enforcement requests to ensure compliance with applicable laws across Google’s operations in India. Identify and evaluate emerging legal risks based on regulator discussions and present findings to functional leadership.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies regularly to conduct trainings and workshops geared towards process improvement and to preempt issue escalation.
