Technical Program Manager Lead, Extended Reality

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in technical program management.
  • 7 years of experience in leadership role(s) with/without direct reports.
  • 5 years of experience in managing projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience delivering software and hardware projects.
  • Experience building cross-functional relationships both internally (i.e., Cross-Product area) and with our OEM Partners.
  • Experience managing a team of program and technical program managers.
  • Experience in writing scripts (e.g., PLX/Dremel/App script).
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

The Google Augmented Reality team is a group of experts tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and building helpful, delightful user experiences. We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead Experiences and First Party Apps on Moohan as well as the overall Moohan program.
  • Work with the other Technical Program Manager (TPgM) leads to run the overall Moohan program and develop strategy, define and drive programs and processes through ambiguity.
  • Lead and manage cross-functionally to plan and prioritize towards delivering our goals while ensuring cross-team alignment on goals, priorities, roadmap, schedules and communicate status and health of the releases to all stakeholders.
  • Identify tools (processes, techniques, automation) that lead or contribute to operational scalability for the internal team and lead triage with Tech Leads of incoming challenges for the areas.
  • Direct a portfolio of programs as a team leader to deliver products for Extended Reality (XR) headsets while identifying and resolving gaps in current processes/tools needed to ensure delivery of our releases.
