Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, Studio Ads Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 1 year of experience with software design, architecture, and Machine Learning.
  • Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), such as through API integration, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, or building applications with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience with Generative AI Agents and Front-End Development.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the team, you will be a key contributor to our Agentic Platform initiatives. You will design, develop, and deploy full-stack agentic solutions that directly assist our Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), from providing insightful analysis to automating complex operational tasks. You will require a blend of software engineering fundamentals, a passion for applied AI, and a collaborative, product-focused mindset.

We’re made up of multiple teams, building Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
  • Design, develop, and launch full-stack solutions with a primary focus on building intelligent agents using Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Contribute to the overall technical strategy and architecture for GenAI applications within the Ads Safety ecosystem.
