Minimum qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in the technology field, including 10 years of team/people management and strategy experience, building and leading teams to success.
  • 10 years of experience in Media, Marketing, Brand Management or Advertising Sales, building and leading business pipeline.
  • Experience with the development of long-term business opportunities and relationships.
  • Experience working with or in the French market.
  • Ability to communicate in English and French fluently, to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in technology or advertising with the ability to develop successful, long-term business opportunities and relationships, and excellent commercial and sales leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead and role model high-performance, competitive selling teams, develop agreements, and build and run ambitious pipelines directly and through others.
  • Ability to be an effective coach of senior diverse talent and collaborate in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with ability to develop and deliver business strategy balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainable success.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to identify, attract and develop talent.

About the job

As the Director of Mid Market Sales, you will lead a Sales team to ensure that our largest customers in the region are getting the best of Google Ads and AI to help them achieve their ambitious goals. You will lead your team to engage with a wide variety of existing companies to find the optimal advertising solution for each client. You will build a passionate and competitive Sales team that is “all in to win” and able to show the return on investment our customers get from our solutions. Your business will be anchored in ambitious Joint Business Plans and rigorous Pipeline Management. You will grow the business acumen and commercial capabilities of your Sales team to help each member to fulfill their personal potential.

In your role as Director of Mid-Market, you will regularly represent Google in these markets with customers’ C-level executives to help these advertisers achieve their marketing and business goals. In addition, you will sit on the leadership team for Google Customer Solutions (GCS) Southern Europe and as such be a key stakeholder and operator of the wider GCS business. You will be a senior commercial leader that earns the admiration of your team, our large customers, and the industry by driving results and achieving business goals for the French market.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Large Customer Sales (LCS), Marketing, Finance, HR, and Operations to develop areas of collaboration to drive growth bringing together prioritized asks for global product, policy or business decisions essential for the region. 
  • Motivate, coach, and develop a Sales team, prioritizing hitting key metrics and delivering results for our customers.
  • Create a culture of consistent high performance, ensuring respect remains at the heart of the team’s culture and norms across multiple markets and cultural nuances. 
  • Develop and execute a people strategy for the Mid Market programs in France which will ensure that each team has the current and future bench of talent to execute for growth.
  • Invest in developing a coaching culture where Managers provide the necessary guidance to help sellers achieve their full potential.
