Strategic Partner Manager, YouTube Music, Third-Party Integrations

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or management consulting.
  • 4 years of experience negotiating and managing the implementation and execution of term sheets and signed agreements with partners, and serving as point of contact to partner/internal stakeholders.
  • Experience working on partner technology integrations and building experiences on third-party platforms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with spreadsheets/analysis.
  • Experience in a professional services role (e.g., Management Consulting or Investment Banking).
  • Knowledge of the digital music space.
  • Excellent investigative skills and attention to detail with the ability to be entrepreneurial, persistent, highly collaborative and intellectually curious.
  • Passionate for new hardware and technologies across different verticals including automotive, speakers, wearables, and consumer applications.

The YouTube Product Partnerships team drives the partner strategy and manages key relationships that help to make YouTube’s products more universally accessible and useful. We own the business side of new products and initiatives, and our strategic partnerships seek to build, distribute, grow, and protect YouTube’s products globally. We know how to assess partnership opportunities in any situation, define a strategy, and work closely within our team, and with Product, Marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive critical partnerships that help evolve our business.

The Global YouTube Product Partnerships team leads the development of YouTube's distribution, growth, strategic marketing and technology licensing partnerships. Our team's goal is to get YouTube Music integrated into every surface (Automotive, Speakers, Headphones, Apps, etc.) where our users want to listen!

As a member of the YouTube Music and Premium Product Partnerships team, you will manage strategic partnerships that grow the overall YouTube Music and Premium business.

In this role you will work cross-functionally to establish and drive the partner strategy and execution plan for our third-party YouTube Music integrations on a global basis, including working with external partners.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead exploratory discussions and negotiate agreements with third-party (3P) partners to secure YouTube Music integrations on partner surfaces that grow YouTube Music engagement, as well as subscription distribution opportunities that grow the YouTube Premium business.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective integration partners, qualifying leads based on strategic fit, opportunity sizing, and technical feasibility and regularly updating cross-functional stakeholders on partner goals.
  • Serve as the main day-to-day point of contact for a variety of partners, troubleshooting issues and responding to time-sensitive inquiries.
  • Navigate cross-functional complexity to quickly and effectively bring open issues to resolution, and drive incremental growth for our partnerships through ongoing business reviews and partner engagement.
  • Support departmental strategy and operations, including goal-setting, financial modeling, forecasting and budgeting, evaluating new opportunities, and presenting recommendations to management teams and stakeholders.
