Product Manager II, AR Avatars and Perception

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in building and shipping technical products.
  • 5 years of experience in product management, consulting or a related technical role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in perception systems, including Key Performance Indicator (KPI) optimizations and performance improvements.
  • 2 years of experience in working cross-functionally with Engineering, User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI), Business Finance, and other stakeholders.
  • 2 years of experience in developing avatars systems, including launching and research.
  • Experience in developing new platform capabilities, features, and developer tools.
  • Experience in building products with machine-learning, computer vision, and perception features.
  • Experience in developing a third-party content/developer ecosystem.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, shipping, and scaling the Avatars systems and services that are used across the next generation of Augmented Reality platforms and products. You will be focused on the aspects of the Avatars system that require perception (e.g., computer vision, audio understanding) to understand how the user is expressing themselves and representing them accordingly. You will be responsible for other core perception areas related to humans and Avatars.For decades, the computing revolution has reshaped our world driven by breakthroughs in compute, connectivity, mobile, and now, AI. Google's XR team is at the forefront of the next major leap – the convergence of AI and XR. This is more than just new devices – it's about reimagining how we interact with the world around us. We're building a future where lightweight XR devices pair with helpful AI to augment human intelligence, offering personalized, conversational, and contextually aware experiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and advance the product strategy and multi-year roadmap for Avatar systems and capabilities.
  • Drive the user motivated quality and metrics definition and testing of Avatars systems and capabilities.
  • Drive the product definition for Perception services based on requirements from users and developers.
  • Cultivate ongoing relationships and collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams to drive timely execution and delivery.
  • Conduct market research and gap analysis to identify product opportunities, market trends, and improvement areas for Avatars.
