Electrical Engineer, Data Center Systems and Technology

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
  • Experience in electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of high voltage substations, medium or low voltage electrical distribution systems, AC/DC systems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant field or a professional engineering license or a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Experience in estimating, electrical design, operation, and commissioning of substations, switchgear, ATP/ATS, emergency power systems and their control systems, power monitoring, and electrical protection.
  • Experience with medium voltage systems.
  • Experience with cross-discipline teams (e.g., structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, architectural).
  • Experience working with data center equipment and environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, transformers, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems).
  • Understanding of start up/commissioning processes.

Responsibilities

  • Define data center system-level, product architecture, and research and development, while helping to develop operations and maintenance procedures for systems/processes.
  • Develop and implement high, medium and low voltage system physical design using AIS and GIS products.
  • Develop and review power system studies, grounding calculations, CT sizing, voltage drop, etc.
  • Familiarity with standards, IEC and ANSI/NEMA standards.
  • Develop new electrical product solutions for switchgear, transformers, energy storage, micro grids for electrical large-scale AC and DC electrical infrastructure for mission critical facilities.
