Senior Technical Program Manager, Advanced Energy Labs

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience working with executives in cross-functional roles at the interface of Engineering and Commercial teams.
  • Experience managing software products aimed at the energy industry.
  • Experience developing and launching innovative software products.
  • Experience in grid modeling and electricity markets/planning.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or an equivalent field of study.
  • Experience developing software that leverages optimization and AI/ML models.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage third-party service providers (i.e. vendors).
  • Ability to translate strategic goals into organized, actionable plans and ensure execution.

About the job

As a Technical Program Manager on the Advanced Energy Labs team, you will help lead our efforts in developing new software and data solutions for accelerating clean, affordable, and reliable AI growth. You will be responsible for managing programs that leverage Google’s AI capabilities to unlock faster infrastructure deployment.

In this role, you will use your experience with software program or product management in the energy industry with deep knowledge of electricity markets and the associated challenges in terms of optimization. You will be comfortable driving technical discussions with Engineering teams as well as external commercial discussions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage software partnerships and develop AI and software solutions to address capacity constraints (e.g., interconnection queues).
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in energy data and software solutions. Generate a project pipeline and roadmap.
  • Manage programs including scoping, resourcing and execution with various Google groups in collaboration with external vendors.
  • Lead investigation and development of solutions that leverage our AI capabilities to support grid modernization.
  • Provide expertise and support on specific projects and commercial negotiations.
