Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience defining and driving a multi-year strategy for threat detection and response.
- Experience managing a globally-distributed 24/7 security operations team.
Preferred qualifications:
- 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, with 8 years in a leadership role managing global detection and response, threat hunting, or security operations teams.
- Experience developing and executing a long-term strategic vision for security operations at an enterprise scale.
- Experience leveraging automation and orchestration (SOAR) to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a security operations center (SOC).
- Experience with the application of AI and Machine Learning (AI/ML) to security data for anomaly detection, threat modeling, and predictive security.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $294,000-$414,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the multi-year strategic vision for Google's global threat detection, incident response, and proactive threat hunting operations.
- Manage, mentor, and inspire a large, globally distributed team of security analysts, and engineers, while also overseeing the team’s budget and resource allocation.
- Drive the integration of automation, AI, and machine learning into security operations to scale defenses and stay ahead of advanced adversaries.
- Inspire and align disparate teams across security, engineering, legal, and policy to work toward a unified vision for a secure Alphabet.
