Finance Manager, Mergers and Acquisitions

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent qualification.
  • 7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions and related technology transactions in a public accounting or multinational company setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to comfortably interact with and influence executives both internally and externally.
  • Effective project management skills, including demonstrated ability to think full cycle, manage long-term projects, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent planning, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent financial modeling and research skills.

In evaluating inorganic growth opportunities, the Mergers and Acquisitions Finance team plays a critical role in providing the tool kit for making sound business decisions. Working in close partnership with Corporate Development, Legal, Finance Integration (FIMO) and Mergers and Acquisitions Tax, this team provides the financial insights to help decision-makers assess the strengths and risks involved in a given acquisition or investment opportunity. As part of this team, you not only have a strong finance and accounting background, but you can also harness this knowledge to navigate complex financial issues to find creative solutions. You're willing to do an in-depth search into the details while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $137,000-$201,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Business teams, Corporate Development, other Mergers and Acquisitions, Finance, Accounting, and Tax teams to evaluate and execute Mergers and Acquisitions transactions.
  • Manage all finance aspects of the Mergers and Acquisitions process (i.e., early stage valuation assessment, evaluating agreement structure alternatives, financial due diligence, drafting and negotiating financial aspects of legal agreements, closing the transaction, valuation analysis, and purchase price allocation).
  • Determine applicable accounting guidance and develop technical accounting documents to describe all aspects of executed agreements.
  • Partner with the Controllership team to determine operational accounting appropriate general ledger entries and consolidation structures.
  • Contribute to a people development agenda, including promoting financial/technical skills building, setting forward-thinking objectives, learning Google's industries in-depth, and providing opportunities and coaching on effective business partnering.
