Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Experience managing end-to-end partnerships.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with partners.
  • Excellent communication and collaborating skills.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

In this role, you will work with critical app developer partners to drive business growth, product innovations and premium user experiences and will navigate business agreements, enable critical product adoption, and deliver on business growth goals with their partners. You will also work cross-functionally and across regions, to advocate their partner needs and deliver a clear narrative externally about the value of Play and Android.

The Dating, Content and Commerce team drives growth for North America Apps by managing our most critical partnerships with the world’s leading app developers. Our Strategic Business Development Managers manage and cultivate relationships with executives within Business Development, Product, and Engineering to align on strategy and solve for their biggest business issues.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of high-growth Dating and Music Developers, key strategic categories for Google Play and Android.
  • Build trusted, long-term partner relationships by bringing them the best of Google Play’s tools and offerings.
  • Drive partner and business growth by delivering growth consulting, analyzing key app metrics, and leveraging an understanding of their business models and the value of Google’s platform.
  • Support partners in integrating early access products and key Play programs.
  • Collaborate with a broad cross-functional network of internal Google teams (including Play Product and Engineering, GTM, Growth Consulting, Partners, and Cloud) to address partner issues on Google Play and Android.
