Global Head of Strategic Initiatives, xWS Partner Engagement

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Certification in Program Management (e.g., Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP)) or Vendor Management.
  • 15 years of experience in a technical project management or a customer-facing role.
  • 5 years of experience in people management with managing global teams and cross-functional programs.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or Applied Science, or a related field.
  • 15 years of experience in managing projects and working with analytics, software coding, or web technologies.
  • 7 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience in driving alignment across conflicting priorities and varying viewpoints in the vendor/extended workforce management with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills.

About the job

gTech's Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) team empowers Product Areas (PAs) to optimize extended workforce (xWF) operations while reducing risks and driving efficiency through the enforcement of Google best practices and policies. We ensure Google's policies and guidelines are consistently adhered to.


The Partner Engagement team is the face of xWS to PAs. We build essential relationships with Alphabet PAs and the Global Procurement Office (GPO) to deliver the policies and guidelines of managing xW in a consistent and scaled way across the enterprise. Our mission is to facilitate xW success, help teams manage compliance, build resilient operations, and promote durable cost savings. We prioritize understanding PA needs to develop solutions that address their specific tests.

In this role, you will have an understanding of both xWS and PA objectives and be responsible for crafting the team goal to ensure the team is aligned and motivated towards goals. You will need a demonstrated history of stakeholder/account management/business partnership, a commitment to team culture, and cross-functional collaboration skills. You will shape Google's strategy in this space, impacting regulatory, commercial and operational decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Build a team, with a goal and strategy ensuring team alignment and impact on goals.
  • Leverage strong domain experience in vendor management and extended workforce operations to lead and develop programs to optimize Alphabet’s extended workforce operations.
  • Own projects, overseeing the strategy and execution of project goals, roadmap, resources, providing leadership, in line with goals for the program.
  • Oversee the development of executive leadership communications for informing changes in policies, standards and compliance obligations, and upcoming milestones on xWF enterprise changes including projects.
  • Build relationships and Influence stakeholders at the leadership level to align on outcomes in the interest of Google.
