About the job

As a Data Scientist at YouTube, you will sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and user experience. You won't just crunch numbers; you will be a key architect of the insights that drive our product roadmap. Your work will ensure that our machine learning models are fair, our features are impactful, and our ecosystem remains healthy for billions of users. The YouTube Data Science (YTDS) CoreX Responsibility team specializes in measuring and improving content quality in YouTube's recommendation systems. Our work is driven by YouTube's Four Rs strategy (The Four Rs of Responsibility) and centered around machine learning classifiers and classifier-based systems aimed at protecting users from inappropriate content. We are involved in critical stages of the classifier development process, from the definition of labels (using human or LLM-based ratings) and the measurement of their quality, to the offline evaluation of predictions and the online measurement of system performance. At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together.
