Head of Customer Engineering III, Workspace, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • 3 years of experience leading teams in a technical customer-facing role within professional services or Sales Engineering, as a manager or as a executive manager.
  • Experience with device management concepts, such as API and marketplace integrations for collaboration suites, migration or change management approaches, or no-code and workflow automation services.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing a team of technical sales managers through enterprise sales processes, operational planning (e.g., resource allocation, resource alignment, skills forecasting), and career development, including performance management and coaching for leadership growth.
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS solutions with an understanding of API/marketplace integrations, security considerations, data migration strategies, change management approaches for large-scale deployments, and workflow automation.
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making in a technical sales context, leveraging metrics and analytics to optimize team performance, forecast resource needs, and demonstrate business impact.
  • Ability to engage with, and present to, technical and executive-level stakeholders.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $186,000-$261,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Customer Engineering Managers and extended teams, focus on team culture, talent strategy, and skills development to deliver successful cloud transformation outcomes for customers and accelerate business goals.
  • Foster customer partnership and provide thought leadership related to cloud, transformation and industry trends.
  • Partner with Sales and broader Google Cloud leadership to define the technical Go-To-Market strategy and execution plan for the region. Through planning stages, determine alignment, coverage, and staffing needs across opportunities.
  • Balance technical leadership with operational excellence, lead workload and opportunity review meetings with sales and CE teams, and provide insight into how to achieve a technical agreement and migration strategy, work with customers, partners, and prospects.
  • Work cross-functionally across Google, partners, and with the team to resolve technical roadblocks including capacity needs, constraints and product problems affecting customer satisfaction.
