As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Pixel Watch and Fitbit Device Software (SW) team is responsible for core software running on Pixel Watch. Our team comprises of the major software subsystems and features.

In this role, you will be directly involved with shaping premium wearable devices and services that showcase the potential of the Android and WearOS platform working on the AI/ML scope on Google Pixel Watch. You will be managing multiple critical AI/ML software work streams. You will work with a team of software engineers on multiple high-visibility consumer-facing products. We are a fluid team, passionate about wearable technology and experiences to help people live better lives. You will have the unique opportunity to make an impact on a consumer-facing product in the wearable space, also you will learn and use many technologies, and work along the side of a strong technical team.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the software development life-cycle of AI/ML features, tool chain and scope for Google Pixel Watch.
  • Drive the planning and implementation of program and features with the cross-functional teams to hit roadmap goals, tracking progress, analyzing risks, resolve execution issues and communicating status.
  • Develop and manage program schedules, technical issues, and resource needs with engineering and cross-functional teams.
  • Support the team in promoting clear communication and making great decisions. Manage communication of progress/status with stakeholders and leadership in various locations and time zones; own and nurture relationships between cross-functional teams.
  • Implement process improvements to streamline product development and continuously manage risks, and when necessary, put together, and evaluate the multiple possible paths to success.
