About the job
At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together.Fast-paced, dynamic and proactive, this role is essential to ensuring that YouTube can continue to scale its growth efficiently and cost effectively. You will own and drive the financial processes (budgeting, forecasting, planning) that are foundational to run YouTube’s wide array of businesses and critical for senior leadership decision-making. You will establish a budgeting “center of excellence” by using your operational domain expertise. Known as the experts in YouTube’s operational cost model, you and your team of program managers will be the “source of truth” for the budget and therefore, well-equipped to identify and track durable savings opportunities for YouTube.
You will use your program management expertise to drive a rigorous cost optimization process across Global Operations: ensuring progress towards aligned operations velocity goals, capturing and communicating the impact of the efficiency and/or cost savings initiatives accurately, and driving performance accountability to deliver (initiative tracking, management to milestones, action lists). In this role, you will work side-by-side and influence a range of initiative owners and sponsors within Global Operations, cross-functionally across YouTube workstream leads (Trust & Safety Ops, Product, Engineering), and Finance leads, as well as liaise regularly with Steer Co members and senior executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Plan the budget and manage to help drive a state-of-the-art level of responsibility across YouTube.
- Drive cost optimization cadence and ensure process compliance on a daily basis.
- Proactively manage progress and be the go-to expert for executives.
- Lead day-to-day activities for the Cost Program office team.
