Senior Technical Program Manager, Data Center Infrastructure Solutions

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in program management or planning for data center infrastructure and real estate development (or a similar industry).
  • 4 years of experience in power transmission and distribution, data center technology, real estate or industrial class development, or other related technical areas.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in financial analysis including budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
  • Understanding and solving complex problems with an excellent Customer-focused approach.
  • Excellent tactical thinking and investigative skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to influence and collaborate with stakeholders.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As our products and services scale the globe, the Global Infrastructure and Energy (GIE) team works behind the scenes as a dynamic team within Google responsible for delivering the infrastructure capacity needed to support Google's growing product portfolio. The Supply Strategy and Portfolio Planning (SSP) team within GIE, manage a complex portfolio of infrastructure projects, ensuring that Google's services have the resources they need to operate seamlessly and reliably. SSP performs location strategy and portfolio management to determine where, why, and how much infrastructure assets Google needs to seamlessly scale into the future. We provide the programs, strategies and tool sets for our regional negotiation and execution teams to consistently make high-quality decisions at scale, with less risk to meet the needs of Google’s business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and refine data center asset type specifications (e.g., land, power, networking) aligned with infrastructure and business goals including a comprehensive set of technical documentation and guidelines for each asset type.
  • Communicate asset roadmaps and performance updates to all internal audiences, including executives. Establish metrics and benchmarks to monitor asset performance and analyze utilization data, providing key insights to portfolio strategy teams to ensure asset usability aligns with market deployment expectations.
  • Engage with internal teams and stakeholders (e.g., regional DC delivery, Engineering, Operations, Sales, Finance) to understand workflows and issues, then apply AI and innovative problem-solving to address complex technical and operational issues, generating systematic efficiency gains in asset performance and deployment.
  • Own the full asset life-cycle, collaborating with engineering and operations to ensure successful integration and operability.
