Supplier Quality Engineer, Solid State Drive

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Quality, Electrical), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience as a Quality, Reliability or Product Engineering.
  • 4 years of experience in SSD manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with high-volume, high-reliability hardware in industries such as servers, automotive, or aerospace.
  • Experience with SSD technologies, including SSD manufacturing and test processes.
  • Ability to travel up to (15%-20%) of the time as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering (e.g., Quality, Electrical), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in Quality/Reliability and SSD technology.
  • Experience with DRAM (Dynamic Random-Access Memory) technology.

The Hardware Testing Engineering team ensures that this cutting-edge equipment is reliable. In the R&D lab, you design test equipment for prototypes of our machinery and develop the protocols used to scale these tests for the entire global team. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$245,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end supplier quality and reliability for SSD (Solid-State Drive) components, from NPI through end-of-life.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives during NPI phases to ensure the technical and operational readiness of the SSD commodity supply chain for mass production.
  • Partner with Design, Manufacturing, and Commodity teams as the subject matter expert on qualifying and scaling SSD technologies. Influence product roadmaps and architectural decisions by providing data-driven insights on hardware quality, reliability, and performance trade-offs.
  • Drive the resolution of critical fleet and factory issues, leading suppliers through robust Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), Failure Analysis (FA), and 8D processes.
  • Develop and implement advanced quality plans and process controls (FMEA, DOE, Cpk, etc.) to mitigate risks.
