Packaging Designer, Devices and Services

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience working in a marketing, advertising or design studio environment.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience using Mac OSX fonts, both PostScript and OpenType.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience using flatbed scanners and other common Mac peripherals.
  • Knowledge of printing processes and building mechanical art, including color separations and common pre-press workflows.
  • Knowledge of colors, white printers including Fiery or Splash Raster Image Processors (RIP).
  • Ability to build and assign ICC profiles to digital files.

As a Packaging Designer, you will be responsible for the on-time production of error-free and properly constructed mechanicals. You will have experience with current design software and possess communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with business partners. Additionally, you will have expert technical understanding of all facets of mechanical production and show attention to typography, style consistency, and detail.Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $151,000-$222,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Build, revise and prepare packaging mechanicals for release to pre-press, print and packaging vendors/teams.
  • Construct clean digital files for print.
  • Perform level photo retouching.
  • Build and assign ICC profiles to digital files.
  • Collaborate with design and editorial staff to ensure creative specifications are met and also with Design Production Lead and Program Managers to ensure project goals, details, and deadlines are met.
