Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in full-stack software development and system design.
  • Experience with front-end languages (e.g., JavaScript or TypeScript).
  • Experience with back-end languages (e.g., Java, Python, or C++).
  • Experience in working with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Typescript, etc.).
  • Experience with unit testing, agile project development, and bug and change management systems.
  • Experience in working with systems for code reviews, version control, integration and automated testing.
  • Experience with creating system/product designs and leading them to launch.
  • Experience with Protocol Buffers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy software platforms for teams within YouTube.
  • Ensure that all technical solutions are designed in a way that enables other teams to access data for operational reporting and data visualization.
  • Collaborate with product engineers to enhance core platforms and create applications using standard and Google-specific software development tools.
  • Write and review technical documents, including design, development, revision documents and review code in compiled or scripted languages.
  • Analyze, review, and modify programs to increase operating efficiency or meet new requirements as well as execute testing, debugging, maintenance or program updates.
