NPI Operations Program Manager, Home

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in NPI Operations management or supply chain management/manufacturing operations/development or operations engineering in System Level devices.
  • Experience in Contract Manufacturer/Original Equipment Manufacturer/Joint Design Manufacturer management with consumer electronics environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, equipment cost analysis and Joint Design Manufacturing model program management.
  • Ability to drive solutions across multiple cross-functional teams, and identify opportunities on the supply chain.
  • Excellent quantitative reasoning, problem-solving, creativity and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, along with the ability to present to management.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As a New Product Introduction (NPI) Operations Program Manager, you will be the primary Operations/Supply Chain interface to the product development and deployment teams with the responsibility for driving operations new product development as well as supporting those products through production ramp. You will have an understanding of the Joint Development Manufacturer (JDM) manufacturing environments and will lead a team of professionals to ensure products are designed and built to Google standards.

The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional Program teams within Google and with external partners to prepare for production ramp or product transitions.
  • Plan and execute operations development activities and ensure transition to production within cost, quality and capacity parameters.
  • Ensure production transitions meet program goals. Manage NPI builds and ramp readiness with internal and external teams (i.e., Material availability, Factory build readiness, Capacity readiness, tooling qualification and transition plans).
  • Partner with the operation core team on budget planning, Operation risks mitigation from NPI to ramp.
  • Manage ramp readiness, drive cross-functional teams to optimize the supply chain for specific reasons, while accounting for risks, changes in schedule or demand.
