Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience as an HR business partner or HR generalist supporting leaders at global companies.
  • 4 years of experience in people management.
  • Experience in workforce planning and organizational design.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin fluently to support the client management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in executive HR leadership roles setting strategy, designing and executing people programs of global scope, and leading organizations during changes.
  • 12 years of experience with working in APAC region.
  • Ability to communicate across audiences, situations, and contexts.

You'll be an advocate of Google's culture and values, partnering with our business leaders to help them build their organizations and make sure all people decisions are based on data. Whether coaching our clients on how to lead their teams, navigating and resolving employee relations issues or managing programs that help develop our Googlers, you are exceptionally focused on putting them first, and being as clear and transparent as possible to help Googlers understand how people decisions get made.

In this role, you will be the People Operations leader for the Platforms and Devices (P and D) Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. You will support Platforms and Devices Vice Presidents (VPs) in APAC who lead employees, and will also manage other People Operations (POps) Google employees based in the region. You will report to the People Operations lead for the Devices and Services Product Group (DSPG) within Platforms and Devices, and work cross-functionally in partnership with the full Platforms and Devices Human Resource (HR) team.Great just isn't good enough for our People Operations team (known elsewhere as "Human Resources"). We bring the world's most innovative people to Google and provide the programs that help them thrive. Whether recruiting the next Googler, refining our core programs, developing talent, or simply looking for ways to inject some more fun into the lives of our Googlers, we bring a data-driven approach that is reinventing the human resources field.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to shape and execute people strategies. Act as an advisor and business partner to VP leaders, earning their trust through counsel. Advocate people's plan priorities to achieve business goals.
  • Partner with People Partners across the Platforms and Devices HR team and extended POps teams to deliver support to the business leaders and client groups in the region through various HR processes (e.g., talent planning, organizational health). Communicate and maintain partnerships across the team.
  • Lead the design and roll-out of region-specific initiatives tailored to the specific needs of the client organization and region.
  • Identify talent gaps, organizational shortcomings, and people needs that could effect business strategy execution; use this analysis to inform the community and guide resourcing and development initiatives.
  • Manage a team of Google employees based in the APAC region.
