Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in spreadsheet modeling capabilities.
  • Ability to form and leverage relationships across functional areas, and sense of urgency.
  • Excellent problem-solving and modeling skills, combined with impeccable business judgment, and ability to communicate with executive business partners.
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

In this role, you will collaborate with functional areas across the entire business to lead initiatives that will shape the financial trajectory of the company. Our team is dedicated to fostering the financial health of our organization by partnering closely with various teams, tracking performance metrics, and creating advanced financial models to enable financial decision-making.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $92,000-$132,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly reporting packages that include full financial statements, comprehensive KPI reporting, analysis of key business trends, actual versus budget variances and comprehensive executive-level explanations of differences.
  • Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial planning cycles; drive visibility into business performance and resource planning decisions; and manage the respective teams’ financial reporting, including development and maintenance of datasets and dashboards.
  • Define and track meaningful metrics to support decision-making across multiple teams; conduct when observing abnormal trends; develop and produce regular insightful reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with other functions in ensuring all finance related requirements (including accounting, product/strategy, business development, operations) are proactively managed.
