Federal Security Sales Specialist, Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience selling to Federal Civilian customers and Federal Systems Integrator partners.
  • 5 years of experience in cyber-security, cloud security, security architecture, incident response, security operations, or security governance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience applying technology to solve business problems.
  • Knowledge of the Public Sector cyber-security landscape.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries, build relationships, and manage talent and ideas to achieve a broader organizational goal.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT/Security technology space.
  • Ability to deliver a professional business and technical pitch to the C-Suite and board levels, with excellent presentation skills.

About the job

As a Public Sector Security Sales Specialist, you will help us grow our cyber-security business by building and expanding relationships with new and existing Federal customers. You will work with customers to deliver business value, demonstrate product functionality, and provide a comprehensive overview of key business use cases. You will lead day-to-day relationships with external customer stakeholders, leading with empathy, while identifying innovative ways to multiply the impact of the team as a whole. You will partner with internal Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Sales teams to grow their security businesses and drive overall value for GCP.Google Public Sector brings the magic of Google to the mission of government and education with solutions purpose-built for enterprises. We focus on helping United States public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, and we continue to make significant investments and grow our team to meet the complex needs of local, state and federal government and educational institutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Construct and execute an effective territory development plan, promote security products to new and existing security customers, meeting or exceeding quarterly goals.
  • Develop and drive pipeline, managing cycles, from lead generation to customer on-boarding.
  • Build and maintain relationships to influence long-term strategic direction, act as a trusted advisor to the account.
  • Partner with Marketing, Customer Engineering, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Customer Success, Channels and Product, and Engineering teams to represent the customer and provide excellent prospect and customer experience.
  • Represent Google Cloud Security in regional forecasts and team meetings, serve as stakeholder to regional Cloud leads, reporting current, accurate and timely forecasting, and business performance in Salesforce and other tools.
