Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Experience managing complex, end-to-end partnerships.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to identify potential business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with strategic partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

The Knowledge and Information (K&I) Partnerships team is responsible for negotiating and managing partnerships that help build, differentiate, and scale Google's products across Ads, Search, Gemini, Social Impact, Geo, Real World Journeys, Commerce, and Research & Core. The team's mission is to create healthy ecosystems that bring sustainable value to Google by building product partnerships that enable cohesive, helpful, and inclusive user journeys.

The Partnerships team is responsible for business development and managing partnerships in North America across multiple products and verticals that help users (both consumers and developers) with their geospatial needs across Google Maps, Google Maps Platform (Developer), Sustainability and Local Search.

As a Strategic Partner Development Principal Lead for Geo partnerships, you’ll work directly with cross-functional executives and key leaders, both internally and with partners, on critical projects that drive Google’s Geo Consumer and Developer product and services. You’ll lead strategic negotiations with key partners that help build or scale products/feature and generate business to the organization. You’ll independently drive business-critical projects from beginning to end, manage the relationships with strategic partners, and develop an insightful perspective on the latest industry trends and market opportunities. You’ll work closely with cross-functional peers and leadership throughout Google, and provide coaching and thought-partnership to other members of the North America and global Geo Partnerships team.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$249,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and manage product-enabling partnerships for products and services across Geo (includes Google Maps, Waze, Auto, Sustainability and Developer), including first-of-its-kind commercial agreements. This includes, but not limited to, content licensing and product integrations.
  • Develop and execute partnerships strategies for enabling new product launches, including partnerships that may require amendments to standard terms and creative incentives (e.g., commercial, co-marketing).
  • Manage coordination with internal cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations, Finance) and other global and regional BD teams (e.g., Search, Commerce, Real World Journeys). 
  • Collaborate with Google’s Geo Product teams to define partnerships goals including relationships with top strategic partners, develop go-to-market plans, launch and incubate new products and features, improve existing product offerings, and identify new product-enabling partnership opportunities.
  • Influence product roadmap by providing market/industry insights.
