Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience managing the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with product launches or launch readiness.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience driving long-term objectives by leveraging cross-functional best practices and maintaining a perspective on program health.
  • Ability to influence without authority, and collaborate with senior executives and disparate engineering organizations to align work-streams.
  • Ability to establish and track the effectiveness of strategic programs, identifying and fixing process breakdowns.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous requests into clear objectives, and break down projects into executable sub-processes.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

The Analytic Insights portfolio is responsible for productizing Google’s geospatial data as analysis-ready assets within the BigQuery ecosystem. As a Program Manager, you will drive the delivery of high-scale data products that integrate core Geo signals with Google Cloud’s analytical and ML stack. You will manage the execution of a roadmap requiring coordination across multiple organizations while navigating the technical and operational complexities of transforming foundational ML models and raw geospatial data into scalable insights, used by data scientists and enterprise customers globally.

The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.

The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of cross-functional projects. Manage technical roadmaps for analysis-ready geospatial data products from initial scoping through global landing.
  • Serve as the primary program lead coordinating between Google Research, DeepMind, Google Cloud, and Geo teams.
  • Act as an influential leader for product managers, engineering, UX research, marketing, GTM, legal, and privacy teams. Resolve technical and business challenges by ensuring seamless communication across the organization.
  • Provide data-driven updates to senior leadership on program health, strategic milestones, and critical risks. Synthesize technical updates from research into business insights.
  • Lead the concept-to-launch process, ensuring all products meet legal, privacy, and security standards while securing stakeholder approvals for public and private launches.
