  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

In this role, you will empower Dialer's goal through responsible on-device AI innovation and platform infrastructure, enabling all teams to deliver exceptional and protected calling experiences.

You will contribute to building the world's leading on-device AI platform for calling, enabling seamless integration and powerful experiences across Dialer.

You will be powering intelligence of android calling features, including scam detection, a Gemini-nano based feature announced in 2024 Google I/O, on the path to launch, and our team is doing end-to-end model development (including LoRA fine-tuning) https://security.googleblog.com/2024/11/new-real-time-protections-on-Android.HTML and next-generation call screening, announced in Made By Google 2023 on Oct (https://www.YouTube.com/live/pxlaUCJZ27E?feature=shared&t=1871).The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first-party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and launch infrastructure (full-stack) supporting fast protection AI feature development in the android ecosystem.
  • Enhance and deploy existing calling protection AI features across the broader android ecosystem.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
