Income Tax Data Operations and Reporting Lead

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in tax.
  • Experience in SQL and managing structured data.
  • Experience in Google Suite (advanced formulas, macros, and Appscript).
  • Experience with data automation and visualization tools.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in programming with Python or Javascript.
  • Knowledge of tax accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding current AI technology trends, available tools and advanced prompting.
  • Ability to work separately with limited guidance and supervision while meeting the desired timeline.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage large datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Google's in-house tax team knows all things corporate tax. Made up of smart, perceptive Googlers with a flair for domestic, international, and sales and use tax, the knowledge and expertise of this team runs deep. You have years of experience in this field and an extensive knowledge of those tax issues most relevant to internet companies. While we don't give our Googlers individual tax advice, you make it easy for Googlers to get what they need to make good tax decisions. You find ways to work smarter by streamlining and automating our tax processes and systems, and find ways to be both innovative and compliant.

In this role, you will join a dedicated team that delivers comprehensive tax solutions using modern technology and data, within a culture built on innovation, collaboration, excellence and integrity.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$162,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze ASC 740 tax provisions, global Pillar 2 calculations and overall income tax reporting to provide accurate data and insights to stakeholders.
  • Oversee standalone tax provision packages for international entities, including interim, year-end and return-to-provision accounting.
  • Develop and maintain SQL tools, data tables, dashboards and AI tools to ensure data integrity and simplify complex tax information.
  • Establish AI-first processes to expand capabilities, increase automation, and reduce tax and accounting risk.
  • Enhance accounting efficiency by reviewing workflows, eliminating bottlenecks, leveraging technology and process changes to streamline operations.
