Staff Software Engineer, Core

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in C++.
  • Experience leading technical designs and making critical architectural decisions for systems with high security, reliability, and scalability requirements.
  • Experience with Chromium based browsers, or other browser technology.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Chromium internals, its architecture, security model, and experience contributing to its codebase, particularly for new OS integrations.
  • Experience with the architecture and implementation of large-scale, distributed identity, authentication, and authorization platforms.
  • Experience in systems-level development and security engineering for operating systems, including platform-specific security mechanisms.
  • Expertise in threat modeling, security architecture design, and implementing robust defenses against sophisticated attack vectors.
  • Proven success in leading the technical delivery of high-impact, cross-Product Area security initiatives from conception to launch.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the technical strategy and roadmap for expanding DBSC (Device Bound Session Credentials) to new platforms and user segments.
  • Lead the end-to-end technical design and architecture of Device Bound Session Credentials across client-side and backend components, ensuring scalability and security.
  • Own and direct the technical execution for Device Bound Session Credentials platform expansion, guiding the team through complex implementations and ensuring alignment across multiple Product Areas.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Device Bound Session Credentials platform expansion, influencing stakeholders and collaborating closely with partners to proactively close session theft vulnerabilities.
  • Implement engineering excellence and best practices within the Device Bound Session Credentials project, particularly for cross-platform development and integration, delivery timelines, reporting to senior leadership.
