Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in Information Governance, eDiscovery or a related legal field (e.g.,data governance, privacy).
- 2 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including executive stakeholders.
- 2 years of experience developing business strategies or managing cross-functional initiatives.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience supporting the development and on-boarding of a new policy or decision-making framework, legal technology, or managing existing technology and related processes.
- Experience with investigative problem-solving, quantitative analysis, and communicating findings to program leadership.
- Ability to work across teams, build relationships, and influence key partners and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and understand strategy within a technical context.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fluid environments, leveraging sound business judgment and management.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and investigative skills.
About the job
As a Preservation Analyst, Technical and Tooling, you will support Google's newly-established Preservation Management Program, which operates under the larger Information Governance Program. Your role is crucial in ensuring completeness, consistency, and appropriate prioritization of preservation projects across Google’s Legal Discovery organization. You will contribute to developing a more methodical and proactive approach to preservation work, helping to provide standing guidance to stakeholders to improve adoption and compliance, and enabling organization-wide metrics reporting on preservation efforts. This position is specifically focused on supporting the evaluation and documentation of preservation tooling, with a primary emphasis on addressing tool limitations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of preservation tooling to assess functionality, identify limitations, and support consistent documentation for improved framework execution.
- Systematically monitor tooling gaps and enhancement needs, align findings with program priorities to inform technical strategy and stakeholder guidance.
- Collaborate with Technical Leads on quality assurance and testing efforts, while maintaining centralized knowledge assets that capture evolving tooling behavior and limitations.
- Work cross-functionally to operationalize recommendations, translate program strategies into actionable tooling solutions that elevate preservation consistency and compliance.
- Establish and track key success metrics related to preservation tooling, provide data-driven insights to inform roadmap discussions and organizational reporting.
